Usafi project

Dirtiness in Tourist Attraction Areas is caused by poor management of waste. In the long history of Zanzibar, different stakeholders took measures in conserving environment especially by providing bins, waste pit and raise awareness to the areas that are benefited to their programs that were not sustainable and unfortunately the problem increased time to time because of poor arrangement of waste management. This project will take place in the whole Tourist Attraction Areas of Zanzibar but initially will be implemented in Uroa-Southern Region.

Nautical tourism facility

In Zanzibar, nautical tourism is seen as a new opportunity for the blue economy and it has motivated numerous investors. Considering the present lack of carrying capacity which is especially evident where Cruise ship and mega-yachts are concerned, there is an opportunities for building marinas and cruise terminals. Zanzibar Government is interested in entering into a partnership to create world class infrastructure for mega yachts and cruise ships traveling from all corners of the world.

Exhibition and Conference Center

The geographical location of Zanzibar gives it the merit for business and conference tourism. With that regard Zanzibar plan to create a state-of-the-art, world class Exhibition and Convention Centre for Zanzibar (ECC). The ECC will be an integrated complex with a host of mutually beneficial facilities; exhibition halls, convention center and meeting facilities, banquet halls, auditoria, hotels, F&B outlets and retail services. These components will have the ability to be utilized independently or in conjunction with each other, depending on the nature of the event.

International Sport Arena

Sports tourism is one of the most important types of tourism that increases tourist attraction, so Zanzibar plans to provide all capabilities, tools, devices and places to organize local and international competitions, which has a great impact on raising the sports tourism. The opportunities prevail for building an extensive indoor sports arena complex with integrated spectator facilities which will function as a major event venue. There is also an opportunity to establish world class 9/18 golf courses

State of Art Resort

Zanzibar tourism industry is booming. Traditional markets are still growing, emerging marketing showing hyper-growth and new markets being introduced regularly. This growth reflects the need for more upscale luxury rooms and services (four – five stars rooms) to accommodate the future demand.

Waterfront botanic gardens

Zanzibar blessed with a plenty of nature reserve that over the years have not been fully exploited to support growth of tourism industry and economic development. Under the green economy strategy, the Government of Zanzibar plans to improve service within its national park/ forest reserves to boost economic growth. Such service include water front botanic gardens and Zip lines to offer an endless configuration of experiences so that each is unique for a visitor.

Amusement park

Primary tourism products are key draw cards which attract tourists to particular destinations. Over the decade Zanzibar has a limited product that make visitor to spend less and stays in the country for short period. There is an opportunity for Zanzibar to use the nature reserve to establish unique amusement parks featuring multiple areas with different themes.

Pemba Tourism Hospitality Institute

Development of tourism industry in Pemba must go simultaneously with provision of training to local. This reflects the need to establish a hospitality centre of excellence in Pemba.  The center must comprise of a hotel, a training school and a hostel and other facilities it deemed necessary. The training school aims to offer Advanced Level Certificate Programs as well as Post-Graduate Diploma courses in hospitality management.

International Airline Company

Over the decade there has been some reluctant for international foreign investors to invests in aviation industry/businesses. Among the reasons are poor infrastructure of aviation industry (including airports) and limited business activities and markets. Recently we have witnessed the growth of tourism and business in general. Furthermore in the near future the country will start to exploit fully the blue economy which in turn leads to increase movement of people in and outside the country. This rapid growth of Zanzibar economy reflects the demand for establishment of airline which operates international and therefore the government of Zanzibar welcome investment in this area.

"State of art” Oceanarium

The Blue economy policy and frameworks recognized the role of marine resources for development of tourism in Zanzibar. Zanzibar has very few aquatic centers and as such there is a need to boost the same to exhibit the complete diverse collection of marine life in the world with an entertainment package. Oceanarium is one among complex adventure providing visitors, of all ages with entertainment, enjoyment and education. The Oceanarium has a very good scope in Zanzibar because it will be the first of its kinds in Africa. The project includes strategic and suitable displays, exhibits, touch pools, aquariums, dangerous creatures and marine artifacts entice the visitor.
